Xiu is a character from The Reader and Protagonist Definitely Have to Be in True Love, a novel by Tuí, in addition to the manhua adaption of it. In the universe the events take place in, Xiu is also the character of a novel, the "Mixed Blood" online story that the character Du Ze reads about. As a novel character himself referred to as the protagonist in that universe, Xiu's experiences take a turn for the worse as the author of "Mixed Blood", Yi Ye Zhi Qiu writes in accordance with what Ze said he wanted to happen. Consequently, where Xiu was a pure-hearted hero in the novel, he becomes a blackened lich who is hunted by others as the story takes a drastic turn.
The exploits of the protagonist are then detailed as the "Mixed Blood" chapters and story arcs progress, which culminates in him being struck down by angels. Rather than be a story book character read about by Ze (in a story within a story scenario, as real world readers are also reading about Ze, reading about Xiu) he assumes a life of his own. Before the latest chapter events, in the part of the story where Xiu is alone in the Lost Lands having been betrayed by everyone he is no longer a story book character, but an individual existing in that universe once Xiu is found by Ze who has entered the story world. Consequently, where the "Mixed Blood" story detailed the protagonist launching a vengeance based campaign where he blackened with the goal of destroying the world, Xiu as an existing being has his fate influenced by himself and Ze who is aware of how his story will play out.
Open to his idea of being helped, Xiu accepted Ze's words of becoming the Supreme God. Not anticipating that Ze was unable to share certain knowledge of events to come on account of forces hindering his speech, Xiu would also not consider him having hearing impairments, with very poor social skills. A possessive desire to keep Ze near him at all times would strengthen regardless of the forms Xiu unlocked. Seeing his ancestry, Xiu is the only person descended from all eight races of the world, hence his mixed blood status. The exceptional powers afforded to him from each of the races Xiu can change into are of a tremendous help as he keeps himself and Ze safe from dangers they are coming across.
Background
Accused of being connected to a lich, with no help from his friends
The "Mixed Blood" novel details how the protagonist had exceptional talent, and entered the Mowu school with super grades where he was recognized as a genius. When in the Magic School, his performance was outstanding. Whether it was magic or theoretical knowledge, the protagonist was always in first place. For specifics, he was able to name the third Emperor of the Moonlight Empire, and the number of people who died in the Battle of the Light Empire. When reading "A Guide to Fusions Magic" Xiu mentions he read the book in school but left before he could learn it.
Exploring the lich's tower, the protagonist was with his childhood friends Rose and Eddie. Additionally, Daniel who was met during his studies was a member of his team. Remembering how he helped Daniel, who thanked the protagonist as the first person to help him, Xiu stated if those people trouble him again then to just tell him. Presently at the time, the protagonist had also rescued princess Kelly's team from the tower. In lifting seals, no one would consider only that only one of the lich Louis' descendants could unseal to laboratory. Consequently, the protagonist was accused by the priests and knights of the Temple of Light of being connected with Louis.
Taken into custody, the protagonist was tortured by having slashes inflicted across his body. After his team are brought before him, the Protagonist heard them say not a word as they feared being implicated as well due to their connection with him. While chained, the protagonist had stakes driven through his hands and feet. From these, the flesh around Xiu's bones begins to burn away. It then spreads to his neck, and Xiu painfully endures injuries that burn across his body. Left as just a skeleton, Xiu was also dismembered and thrown into a funeral pit.
Awakening as he now had the undead power of immortality, Xiu was very confused at his situation. Still able to communicate, Xiu gave his account of events to Rose who came. Surprised to see armed members of the Temple of Light coming, Xiu could use his undead powers to evenly match them. Unable to bear killing the opponents though, Xiu could only flee. The protagonist's undead form is the strong undead lich, yet due to injury he remains in the low-level skeleton form. Suffering a series of betrayals, the Protagonist fled the Temple of Light forces by entering the Lost Lands. During his time in the Time Corridor, where the space-time was unique, a person can only enter it once in a lifetime and he can only ever enter his own version of it. The most suitable hiding space in the world, Xiu placed his life box there. Unkillable, his enemies died and searched for but never found his life box.
In the Lost Land arc, when saved by the nine tailed spirit beast the protagonist would obtain his more advanced lich form. Upon Ze's entry to the world, events are altered. Where the protagonist was helped by the spirit beast, Xiu is kissed by Ze. Flesh returns to Xiu's face where he now has long dark colored hair. Seeing his right hand still skeletal, Xiu finds the partial devouring was not enough to recover his whole body. Intending to drive away the spirit beast and consume the remaining soul, Xiu sees Ze has regained consciousness and complies with him saying to let go.
Characteristics
Noble and helping even those who mistreat him, Xiu feels he does what he is supposed to do. Captured and alone, it was not just the pain of the body, but also the feeling of despair when Xiu had been abandoned by everyone. Hie flesh burnt away and left a skeleton, where the skull could not make any expression, the surprise and disbelief was felt by others. Although he continued to help others as a skeleton lich, his was soul stricken with deep pain over betrayals. The cruellest thing was not being hopeless, but given hope for it to be crushed.
Hearing Ze out and open to his idea of becoming Supreme God
After a voice stated when he dies then everyone will be happy, Xiu was not willing to accept it. On the brink of true death, in draining power, Xiu asked in his mind who Ze was. Rather than consuming wantonly, the delay kept Ze alive for him to hear his purpose. Since Xiu is found by Ze at the point of the story where he is a lich who has suffered extensive betrayals even from close friends, he does not trust anyone. In all forms Xiu says relatively little to others, and motions if he wants something carried out. His facial expressions reserved for those he is not fond of often gets a message across. When it came to Ze he would heed his advice.
Studious, Xiu in his lich form spent time reading from the Magic Codex and practiced undead style spells. At his worst point, Xiu is far from the noble hero he was, yet makes use of available time to learn anything practical he can given that he has been under sustained attack for so long. Extensively practicing spellcraft, Xiu heals Ze from effects but virtually does not speak with him during this time. Seeing how some spells cause discomfort to Ze, he removes the effects then. As they weather acidic rain, Xiu in his gnome form states that Ze can leave him and escape. In that form, Xiu would also apply his intelligence into creating upper ranked mechanical puppets. Reading in all his forms is something natural for Xiu.
His kindness returns in stages, walking, Xiu would wait for Ze to catch his breath. In his gnome form, when he was injured and being carried by Ze, whose hair and skin was being burnt by the corrosive black rain, Xiu said to put him down he can go. Stating he would cancel the blood contract, Xiu added that Ze would not die because of him. Still navigating relationships with others, Xiu thinks how he would not tell the man that shelter has already been seen, he will only say to put him down and he can go. His mindset is Xiu will not tell the man that he will kill him the moment he abandons him, he will only say that he will cancel the blood contract, and Ze will not die because of him. Not wanting to tell the man that he does not want to let go, Xiu will only say that he will hold him tight. A possessiveness forming, this would mellow into doing whatever Ze wanted, in contrast to the protagonist story route of becoming increasingly ruthless to all as time went on.
Should it occur, Xiu is not moved by negative reactions to him. Seeing the girl's helpless, fragile appearance, it was if a rock had been tossed into the water, but no ripples were made. A demon himself, the girl's distress did not cause any reaction from him. On describing Ze he thought of a ray of sunlight that he had seen in the orphanage. It melted the ice on the window little by little, until it shone on him and it was as if it warmed him to the center of his heart.
Having his flesh restored as a lich, Xiu looks like something that walked out from an ancient painting of a decadent aristocrat. His forms influence his personality. The gnome form is suspicious Ze would leave him. His dragon form is fiercely protective of what he regards as a most important treasure. Acknowledging this, and dealing with potential issues, when in his dragon form for instance, Xiu calms himself and overcomes an innate instinct to take Ze to a cave and guard him like a treasure at the expense of other pressing matters. In his demon form, there is a particular murderous intent towards those who threaten them.
Possessing very fast reflexes, Xiu effectively seizes a moment to end it in his favor. Finding a foe can move to avoid the tip of his spear, Xiu changes to the sword, and with that inches from that target's face, it's changed back to the spear where the extra length prevails. Having a best answer for everything, Xiu thinks outside the box. A consuming plant that is used for offensive purposes can hold and cover his body from an avalanche while fixed in place to also avoid being swept off a cliff. Instantly conjuring fire walls in response to a flood of green vines, at noticing that they seemed to grow larger in response to the fire, Xiu immediately removes the final walls and also warns others that they absorb magic energy having identified that. Smart, Xiu does not tell Enoch that Antonio is looking for him, rather has Enoch come with his group. When Antonio finds them and thanks Xiu for helping Enoch, he can count on Antonio's intellect to help them with the tasks ahead.
Aspirations
Acting to help others was in Xiu's nature. Aware of how Daniel's family situation is not very good, Xiu wondered would he be happy to receive a staff. Upon being betrayed, the goal of escaping faded. His heart visualized as being squeezed by thorned vines, Xiu felt no pain from this, before feeling that was wrong. Where his heart had already melted away long ago, Xiu was betrayed again but this time did not feel hurt and sad as before.
Repeatedly insisting he was innocent as he was interrogated, Xiu maintained his resolve in telling the truth. The determination would also be used in his commitment to surviving. The double pyramid he acquired turns into a sickle that could cut through space, and Xiu resorts to assistance as he focused on escaping. Contemplating how he does not want to die, Xiu then remembers how no one needs him. Wondering why he is regarded as evil, Xiu is also affected by thoughts on how since the world has abandoned him, why not abandon the world. Laughing as he is found by soldiers, Xiu steps through a barrier into the Lost Land.
Where the light in his eyes was diminishing, Xiu felt it was the case that no one was coming to save him, no one needed him. Thinking whether Ze was here to kill him, all the while Xiu's thoughts were how he did not want to die. Rather than the master-servant contract, Xiu forges a blood contract with Ze. A strongest desire formed in wanting to keep Ze near him. Attentive, he hurriedly walks to his side and pats Ze on the back to help him become more comfortable. When the Fire Lord detonated himself, Xiu moved to defend Ze without a second thought.
After Ze shares he will fulfil his wish, Xiu answers that he wants a lot and can he give him all of it. Motivated to move since there are no corpses to train on, Xiu commences his (new from the novel story) campaign. Telling him to come, Xiu reaches the column of light leading from the Lost Lands. Surrounded by demons, Xiu challenges the city lord to prevent greater numbers from overwhelming them. Feeling there was no need to rescue the demon sisters Violet and Alice, it came from a place of not helping because he saw no use for them. From Ze's presence, this view would be amended to helping them because. Asked if he likes the world, Xiu shakes his head. Whispering softly that liking it is irrelevant, Xiu mentions that he already gave up. Unable to look at it without hatred, so all the beautiful things in the world cannot be reflected in his eyes, Xiu states he can only see Ze as the one thing he wants and likes. Xiu requests that Ze show him what is good about it.
Where Ze said for them to do it, Xiu goes along with his desire to acquire a flame crystal soul from the Flame Lord. From Ze seeing it, Xiu bids for the egg containing a spirit beast. In them aiming to acquire warrior badges to join the mercenary guild, Xiu takes Ze's hands, has them both touch a test-dummy that he explodes. Questioning have they both have passed, there is the implied understanding of what would happen if this were not the case.
Having an opportunity to actually stop and think about future goals, Xiu asks how to get back through the Lost Land to depart the demon populated realm for the Chaos Continent. Although the blood contract beast was able to enter the elven forest freely, where it was like a large magical forest that kept out all other unwelcome visitors, Xiu decided in that case it would need to be destroyed. An elf, Xiu hears Ze say to not kill Ariel or the Queen of the Elves. At first mistakenly believing that Ze is romantically attracted with Ariel, seeing this is not the case, Xiu calms quite real instincts to want the razor sharp leaves to run through her neck.
Not minding waking up to find Ze clinging to him for warmth, similarly when sweating he cherished the close contact. Identifying that Ze was close to the explosive impact zone from the Fire Lord's explosion, Xiu made it to defend him. Though the impact was too great and Ze's body had been pierced by stone fragments, Xiu felt undead magic, which represents torture and death, would not do. Illuminating a torch in his sphere, Xiu activated his human form to heal him using the restorative magic afforded to them. As a human speaking to Ze who cannot hear him, Xiu says he likes him. His voice was gentle, but with an almost brutal determination. There was no room for rejection or opposition. It was a verdict and a proclamation, not an opinion. Like a mighty king, Xiu is described as having led the army in front of the enemy and openly declared his intent to invade.
Learning today was his birthday so they should do something special, Xiu wanted to read Ze's book. Reading the doujinshi which depicts a fan story of the protagonist (him) with Eric, he says to Ze if this person is you (pointing to the drawing of Eric) then the other character is him. If this person is not Ze then that other character is definitely not him. Only he and Ze can be like this with one another. Requesting for Ze to not leave, Xiu speaks how he only has him. Hearing from Ze that he is responsible for everything bad that has befallen him, Xiu is unconcerned. If Ze feels bad then he can make it up to him. Similarly, learning that he is to destroy the world, Xiu does not care if Ze is the one who kills him. These were immediate reactions where Ze was concerned.
Forms and Powers
While born as a human, Xiu would have mixed blood on account of his ancestry so could come to be each of the eight respective races. With four forms awakened, Xiu can freely transform. When the beastkin was the seventh bloodline unlocked, Xiu became a false god in terms of his power. Before, Xiu could fall unconscious after changing his form where it was a strenuous activity. Upon acquiring his last form, Xiu could change freely without any drawbacks.
Able to change at will between the eight races by the time he completed the Tower of God Trials, Xiu at once fought the God of Creation who appeared. Knowing angels are good at buffing and healing but their attack power was not as strong compared to others, Xiu changes to his gnome form to unleash the Kabbalah. With that being blown apart slightly by Verdict, he assumed his dragon form to tear through space and attack the God of Creation with his dragon spear. With the God of Creation fleeing, his beastkin form was the fastest in melee combat, and hiss claws could seize him. He was willing to have his arm and head cut off by summoned angels nearby so long as he could rip out the God of Creation's heart.
After his body parts fell on the floor they became vapor and dissipated into the air, and Xiu beheld the the God of Creation with his gloomy eyes of the lich. Prevented by the angels from teleporting away, Xiu's head, limbs and body were cut apart by them. Though he could not die as a lich, the feeling that he was being trampled on by the enemy was pretty bad. The cold fires in his eye suddenly flared, and the Burning Desire sword blocked the next angel's weapon. Violent streams of gold-colored electricity from the demon spread outwards. The arcs were very fine, like thin wisps of golden hair strands, but turned each angel that it came into contact with into chunks.
In response to enemy elves firing at him, Xiu changes back into his lich form to raise the fallen elves, angels, and demons to all overcome the living that remained. Registering that the statues forming into multiple life forms coincided with the history the respective races had influence in the world, Xiu becomes his dragon form.
Undead Lich
Able to survive as a skeleton, Xiu's undead form is not that but a magical based lich. The form resorted to when death in other bloodlines is a possibility, Xiu can also re-establish his body should he be cut to pieces. His first form unlocked, Xiu's soul started to become blackened due to the betrayals and sustained attacks from others. A life box, the means behind his resurrection, is what affords the protagonist immortality so he can regenerate indefinitely so long as that is safe. This would allow him to overcome light based attack which were truly lethal against undead forces.
Physical bones being conjured make for effective spear based weapons. Varied numbers of them can be generated instantly, and fired with precision. Pointing towards someone, a bone spear could be non-verbally launched. The "Bone Spear Array" power has countless numbers of them appear from transparent ripples in the void. Bones can bind someone by the ankles for entrapment purposes. Non-physical powers were available, ranging from undead curse magic, undead plague magic, and summoning magic. A green powder like plague mist can be sprayed. He can numb and remove pain.
Familiar with contracts, Xiu created a blood-contract beast when forming one with Ze. Made of ruins, Xiu activates the blood-contract beast to find Ze when he wakes with him not there. Used on many occasions, in various forms, it could track Ze to the elven forest, to the Sky City after he was teleported there.
Capable of draining souls, in draining half of Ze's at a time, where everything concerning him would be reset daily, Xiu could recover a flesh based body. Able to physically mend a sword damaged heart, while the wound was no longer fatal it made him weak. Feeding on a soul alleviates that. His fingertips has a target's soul gradually appear, if one should move a finger, the fragile soul will be torn apart so its helpful for discouraging others from attacking. His soul possessed by the lich Louis, changing into his lich form, Xiu can consume him from within his own soul.
From the start, the extraordinary powers at his disposal seemed innate. Although not yet mastering his necromancy skills when he first found himself as a lich, Xiu's good instincts allowed him to raise the dead of the cemetery to engage the Temple of Light soldiers that came for him. Finding himself within the Sea of Undead, he essentially had a massive army at his disposal. Able to wrest control of it from a necromancer also relying on the undead forces, Xiu had supremacy over a vastly over-powered magic. As Louis done, it could feasibly create an endless army. The undead can kill soldiers, to be raised and fight their own numbers, and repeated.
Capable of generating Magic circles, Xiu could bring undead legions to him should there not be any in the area. White and gray winged skeleton horses could be summoned for transport. Summoning armies from the sea of undead souls, Xiu had the sheer numbers of skeletons transferred and poured into a volcano to for the mass of them to soak up all the magma to prevent the Fire Lord from regenerating. Dark elements along with the white torrent from the sea of undead souls quenched the volcano's fire. An enormous black magic array forms in the air, which appearing again after being scattered by dragon flame, could create a portal for a bone dragon to emerge.
Gnome
A gnome form appeared as a twelve year old human, and then fifteen where the form can age, with flaxen hair, and pink skin. Capable at forging, Xiu was physically weak but his power lay elsewhere. On account of his species, Xiu was not attacked by the wandering mechanical puppets that appeared, rather was served by them. Able to create mechanical puppets himself, even one of them was a force to be reckoned with. Acting as if connected to his thoughts, Xiu can have them occupy powerful hostile forces, and cause others to drop from the air to crush specific enemies. A small regiment including Zaphion was enough to breach the entirety of the elven forest defences, and threaten the Tree of Life. They prevailed where an undead army may have been scattered by magic, lost their way in the outer maze-like defences, or vanguished by the elven defenders.
Becoming a six-star mechanic sufficed for the tasks at hand, and Xiu later gained the highest seven star rank. Making use of the mechanical puppets eager to serve him, Xiu acquired the most advanced materials to prepare for the final fight of the Tower of God level. At the same time, Xiu used his gnome expertise to construct a new seven-star, human-type mechanical body for Old John. There was the opportunity for Xiu to forge some of the most capable weaponry in the world to sell, which would have been all the more valuable since he was the last remaining gnome as all others had disappeared.
A gnome's special skill is that can control time. Using an anti-magic machine to draw out the light elements inside can remove the seals from a book that Enoch, an accomplished thief, could not access. Poking the air in front of him, the forest scene vanishes for a beautiful fantasy scene to appear in front of him, a path to Ze that presented himself to Xiu. Ranged orb like powers were available for Xiu to cast. From his comment, they would seem to be lethal to a target.
Demon
Supernaturally fast and capable of flight using bat-like wings, Xiu also has curved horns. Exceptionally powerful by itself, Xiu is more so when wielding a sword that can enhance his demonic bloodlust. Identified as a relation of the demon god Bael, the demon form also earned the loyalty of the Thunder Regiment demons led under Rachel. The demon form was relied on in assaulting the Sky City where the God of Light had taken Ze. After the God of Light emitted a huge dazzling ball of light, which gave the impression of a sun falling from the the sky, Xiu could not escape with it locked onto him but purple-gold electricity writhes into a huge grid. Wilful, the electric grid wound around the ball of light tightly. The collective light of destruction burnt retina through closed eyelids.
While Xiu is physically capable as a demon, the greater immeasurable power of the demon form lies in the purple-gold lightning that can be blasted at opposition. Remarkably destructive, the surges can tear through rock. A power-grid of electricity can cover a target to cut it up all the faster. Individually possessing the most ruinous capabilities, the bright lightning tore the void where the overpowered calamitous energy that shattered the earth and sky struck down to destroy a light shield. Purple lightning rages in the hall like a giant electric serpent. Destroying everything, many of the knights and priests had already been melted away like wax by the power of the lightning.
Human
Born as one and so his default self of sorts, Xiu regains his human form after he protects Ze from the Fire Lord, where it seems some of Ze's blood was come into contact with. He can use more varied types of magic since humans specialize in learning. Xiu especially excels in the four elements of water, wind, fire, and earth. Using a sword, it can be enveloped in a colorless battle aura. Wind magic can help him jump higher than what a person could do. It can slow down his and others fall to drop into the sea at an acceptable range. Water magic can allow them breathe in it. Casting ten balls of light that fly in all directions can illuminate an entire cave. A "Quicksand burial" was a a very large scale and powerful magic that could sink others into naturally occurring desert sand. Raising an earth shield can protect him from arrows made out of light fired by someone drawing on the power of a false god (a mortal who can touch the powers of the gods). "Firewall" raises five walls of fire three meter high that shoot up.
Healing magic can also be relied on as a human. Such healing spells can be used on others, but not on himself, so human Xiu requires bandages for injuries he sustains. Having limitations, it was hindered since the amount of light elements in the reverse side of the continent are too sparse to allow Xiu to use even the most basic healing magic. Limited given the environment, in combination with Xiu's depleted magical reserves, he focused on continuing to heal Ze until he was saved, and drained, he fell unconscious.
Elf
Using the blood contract beast, Xiu ascertains Ze's location in the elven forest when he was kidnapped by Eric's team, and kidnapped further by Simon who took him there for Anat who was searching for who killed her apprentice. Having the mechanical puppets slaughter the elves, Xiu appears overcome where his brightly shining eyes contained not even the slightest glimmer of sanity. Taken by Ze to the golden liquid at the alter, Xiu is restored and is in his elf form. In the darkness, Xiu's white elven skin was covered with a layer of warm light, a racial characteristic of the elves. Only a pure person can touch a unicorn, which Xiu can do despite having turned the elves into dark elves and burning their forest. Not the amiable type like the human form, it is easier for Xiu to be cold to others as an elf.
Nature based powers of all kinds are available to Xiu as an elf. Activating the "Thousand Leaf Blades", falling leaves can shine like metal and cut vines attacking him to pieces. Taking Ze's hand, Xiu can warm him from the snow with a layer of green light. A purplish red flower can be rapidly grown in snow, and while an attack, it could also be used to encase and protect him and Ze from being swept away by an avalanche. A spoken word "Germinate" can cause a sharp pain to explode in someone's head, where thin branches and green leaves shoot out from a subject's fingers. The "Grow" words has the growth extend to the eyes, nose, mouth, and ears. These branches attack others nearby, and cutting them off is painful for the target. "Bloom" is the final word that induces death.
Dragon & Humanoid Dragon
When Muir and Cail among many other dragons are fighting, Xiu is splashed by scarlet dragon blood. Emerging from the rubble as a silver dragon, small white flames are unintentionally made when attempting to speak. Concentrated white fire can be breathed to blast away rocks. His eyesight ten times better than a human. When stones from a collapsing mountain smashed onto his scales, it felt like a tickle. Large wings allow him to soar through the air. Able to see in the absence of light, instincts tell it that he needs to find a nest that was safe and secluded to shelter and hide his treasures, such as Ze who he had.
Feeling he cannot restrain his dragon form, Xiu is wary he will not be able to stop himself from grabbing Xiu and taking him to a place no one can find him. In the Sky City, when unconscious and feeling compromised, Xiu instinctively chooses his strongest physical form. His shadow begins to twist and expand until becoming a giant. In his dragon form, Xiu could sit indifferently to sword strikes as the fallen killed the angel soldiers in the task at hand, and keep Ze safe as well.
Having inherent abilities being a silver dragon, Xiu has his own distinct dragon powers namely being able to control space. A dragon language magic ability is "Anti-gravity" which can fling dragons upwards into the air. Something to clear others, that does not affect himself, Xiu may may swiftly upwards in the current as other dragons were scattered. Interspatial magic can be used for teleportation purposes, with no indication given to enemies of where he would appear next. Advanced space magic can cause explosions in the area around a target, leaving traces of twisted space.
Instantly able to transform between a dragon, and dragon humanoid form, then back again, in both states Xiu can rely on dragon magic. A number of blades can appear from all directions, and made to hone in on a specific point. Using spell in the dragon language causes a huge gray magic formation in the sky. The spell circle slowly rotates and lights up from the center outward. Gray light falls down and wherever it hit, the people it touches instantly vanish. An absolute power, it was as though gray rain was falling from the sky as countless lights fell from the magic circle. It did not matter whether it was hundreds or thousands of people (as in the case of the fallen in the Sky City trial) so long as they were underneath the gray magic circle, it only took a moment for them all the disappear without a trace. The number of times Xiu used the high level magic in a day left him feeling tired, thus there were limits to this astounding ability. The spatial magic allowed thousands upon thousands of gathered people to be collected over time. A part of their faction, Xiu could not touch the angels, yet the dragon powers allowed the fallen to be unleashed upon the angels to kill them instead.
Beastkin & Humanoid Beastkin
Unable to break free of the golden bindings that Eric used, Xiu finds a red light in the sky, that coincided with the Beastkin God sacrificing some of his own divinity. Done by the Beastkin God cutting his wrist, his blood sent a red light to empower the beastkin warriors. Then able to understand the Battle Hymn of the beastkin, hearing he should not be bound, Xiu was told he had a pair of claws that can tear all enemies apart. Where magic could not free him, Xiu as a beastkin could break free of the bindings, and was the most powerful type of beastkin, a lion. His humanoid beastkin form retains the tail, round lion ears, and enhanced eyesight. A strong kinetic energy can hold Ze onto Xiu's back. Leaping away with the speed of a roller coaster, Xiu could retrieve parts needed for the gnome trial.
Surprisingly agile, Xiu's beastkin was the most nimblest form. With his fast reflexes and keen senses, another false god tier foe seemed to move in slow motion. Calmly dodging all of his attacks, Xiu's strength allowed him to smash Eric's shield. Empowered by the Beastkin God's blessing, Xiu too could enter a berserker state. Beams from the God of Light, with almost no gap in between them were able to be avoided to an extent. Enraged by the Battle Hymn, he could prevail in the beastkin trial, and with assistance, prevail in a fight against Gruumsh with four other beastkin gods.
Angel
For the angel trial, Xiu realized that swearing to become governor was not to pass the trial, but an insidious trick to actually become a governor and so be a puppet resigned to gathering light. Xiu confirms he will be one of the fallen instead. Having always wanted to, Xiu raised his left hand where it had the symbol of a broken wing on it. After being struck by the Verdict weapon where Ze was killed, Xiu in his angel form can restore him. A six-winged angel, bringing someone back to life was against heaven's will, thus is was not magic that brought Ze back but exploiting a bug in the system. His fingers covered with the light of healing magic, Xiu's own wounds could also regenerate at a speed visible to the naked eye.
Weapons
Acquiring the artefact named "Thousand Changes", also known as the Qian Bian, he has access to a utensil that could absorb weapons and change into them. Rather than carrying a scythe and a demonic sword, upon finding them, Xiu can add them to the Qian Bian to generate a portable weapon. This saves him carrying them, and changing at will is very helpful for battle tactics, and using a weapon most suitable for what racial form he is. The Magic Codex was added to the Qian Bian, to keep that book of knowledge safe.
Scythe
A black crescent shaped blade was an effective melee weapon for Xiu's undead lich form, but much more effective as a wand of sorts to enact with vast amount of curses. Grabbing the death scythe makes an arc in the air, where a crescent-shaped beam of dark energy flies straight towards a target. Contact seemed a requirement for some of the stronger spells.
Mechanical Puppets
As gnome Xiu could create mechanical puppets and done so, Zapphion could be relied on to fend of the Golden Mercenary Team, and in invading the elven forest. Once in possession of the Kabbalah, as a gnome Xiu feels invincible as the colossal mechanical puppet crushes the God of Light into powder upon seeing him. Its Achilles heel was the terrifying energy requirement - three godheads, countless dragon energy crystals, and tons of rare materials are needed to power the Kabbalah for a day.
Burning Desire Demonic Sword
This silver red sword that was acquired for him from Dan where Ze knew which container it was kept in. The weapon can exaggerate feelings of hostility to enhance power. Particularly helpful when fighting as a demon, it was used to cut up Halphas. Wielding it as a human, it was the weapon of choice against the dragon god Io. The long, shallow gash inflicted on Io was bleeding and showed no signs of healing, in fact it seemed to be trying to squeeze more blood out of his body.
Bow
A bow shaped like branches and leaves can generate many magic light arrows. When Ze had been kidnapped by Enoch, he wasted no time in assailing his target with projectiles from afar. Able to shoot multiple arrows, against foes that can do the same, Xiu can have the third arrow for example suddenly accelerate to hit the tail of a second arrow to change its direction and increase its power.
Silver Blue Dragon Spear
In the dragon island it was the dragon spear that had been calling out to Xiu. A relation to his ancestor, it was used by Hilda to stab into a black dragon. This weapon can cut off time but not matter, so could keep Muir sealed to the present day. Able to unseal the entrance to the Dragon Realm, it could relay communications as to how this can be done. A capable weapon when used physically, it stabbed into the chest of a desert pirate when Xiu was mounted on his dragon. The effects of the weapon leaves a person similar to a burst balloon. Remarkably quick to draw, the spear could stab through an automatically triggered defensive light based barrier.
